Long Mynd Batch Burner 2014

That was a first for us…but it will certainly not be a last! Well, it might have been a last if we were actually taking part in the Batch Burner last Saturday…a 48km ride up hill and down dale over the Long Mynd. I think a last place from one of the CountryStyle team would have been a certainty. As it was we thoughly enjoyed sitting on the side of a hill photographing the 350 riders taking the challenge…

The Batch Burner was first held in 2013 and is an annual event organised by the PTA and friends of Norbury Primary School, and Plush Hill Cycles based in Church Stretton. Its aim is to raise much needed funds for the school…and I think I can safely say that they do a very good job of it. The whole event has a carnival atmosphere with live music, barbecue, beer and cake!

Entries are now being taken for the 2015 Batch Burner to be held on Saturday 6th June. I have no doubt that places for the event will once again be sold out early!
